Confirmation Program Information

Welcome to the Natick Catholic Community Confirmation information page. Our mission is to create a thriving parish community where young Catholics can personally encounter Jesus, fully engage with their faith and joyously bring the love of Christ into the world.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

NCC’s Confirmation preparation is a two-year program where we explore the fundamental truths of our Catholic faith, prepare to follow Christ, and share in the joyful participation of the Eucharist at Mass together.

The Confirmation 1 program focuses on deepening each candidate's understanding of the Catholic faith and the Sacrament of Confirmation and Confirmation 2 helps reveal God’s unique plan for each candidate as they prepare for lifelong discipleship.

FORMAT 

Confirmation 1 & 2 candidates meet one Sunday afternoon/month at St. Linus Church from 4-6 PM which includes attending the 5 PM Mass together. Families are highly encouraged to join us at Mass. 

On the weeks we do not meet, Confirmation 1 & 2 candidates, parents and sponsors will receive opportunities to deepen their Catholic faith and prepare for Confirmation together through online and printed resources.

CURRICULUM

Our curriculum utilizes Chosen: Your Journey to Confirmation from Ascension Media. Chosen is designed to provide a thorough knowledge and understanding of the Catholic faith, address and answer fundamental questions about life, and challenge candidates to personally commit to following Christ. 

FEES

The Confirmation 1&2 registration fee includes online access to all Chosen videos, a student workbook, a Confirmation guide for parents, and a Sponsor handbook to help deepen the Sponsor-candidate relationship throughout the Confirmation journey.

SMALL GROUP LEADERS

Adult small group leaders meet with the same 8-10 candidates throughout the year in short break-out sessions during class. It is a great opportunity to grow in faith and open your heart to God’s plan for you!

CONFIRMATION 3-YEAR TRANSITION PLAN

In early 2024, the Archdiocese of Boston lowered the age for the Sacrament of Confirmation to 8th grade. You can learn more about the decision here.

Over the next three years, NCC will implement the new change and confer the Sacrament of Confirmation to our first 8th graders in the spring of 2027. Please refer to the timeline below and register for the appropriate Confirmation preparation session online. Confirmation Dates listed are placeholders as we work with the Bishop’s office to schedule dates.
