Mr. William Sawyer is the Director of Liturgy & Music for the Natick Catholic Collaborative since joining the staff in the summer of 2017.
He graduated in the spring of 2016 with his Masters of Music in Sacred Music with an emphasis in Choral Conducting from Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey. His conducting teachers included Dr. James Jordan, Dr. Joe Miller, and Dr. Steve Pilkington. He was the Graduate Assistant Conductor for the GRAMMY-nominated® Westminster Williamson Voices.
He also holds a Bachelors of Music in Piano Performance / Pedagogy from Westminster Choir College studying under famous piano pedagogue Ingrid Jacobson Clarfield. For three consecutive years (2011-2013), Mr. Sawyer received first place in the Westminster Piano Scholarship Competition. Mr. Sawyer gave his international vocal solo debut at the Shipley Arts Festival in Sussex, England, UK in Lancing College Chapel in 2013. As a member of the Westminster Symphonic Choir during his collegiate education he has worked under conductors such as, Yannick Nézét Séguin, Daniel Barenboim, Alan Gilbert, Gustavo Dudamel, Daniele Gatti, and Andrew Manze. He has performed in venues such as Carnegie Hall, NYC; David Geffen Hall, NYC; Kimmel Center, Philladelphia, PA; Symphony Hall, Boston, MA.
He is an active member of the American Guild of Organinst (AGO), American Choral Director Association (ACDA) and the National Pastoral Musicians Association (NPM).
Prevous appointments included to the staff of Trinity Episcopal Church, Princeton, NJ and The Episcopal Church at Princeton University, Princeton, NJ.
